Cat: Hello, welcome back to our Mindful Mindsets. I'm Kat and this is Katie, and we are here today to talk about the mindset of power. So, katie, do you want to go ahead and kick us off with our tiger's eye gemstone and how that represents power?
Kati: Yes, so the tiger's eye gemstone represents power, echoing the stripes of a tiger. The tiger's eye stone is a fantastic symbol of power and agility, and it's such a cute stone it really is, it's one of especially like these teardrop ones that we have.
Cat: They have kind of like gold flecks inside of them. I do love it and it is a good representation of power it is, which is a good reminder for ourselves.
Kati: You have power within you. You can do hard things. You're powerful force. What do you think when I was thinking about this topic and what we were going to talk about today, like how, what do you think?
Cat: When I was thinking about this topic and what we were going to talk about today, like how, what do you think is the difference between trying to channel and focus on like power versus maybe like Amazonite, which is confidence?
Kati: That's a good question. I want to hear your thoughts about that too, cause I'm like I don't know you going first, I feel like confidence is more like maybe how you present yourself, like you're exuding confidence, and power is maybe more of an internal thing, and maybe that's just how I take it, but power is like the energy within me. For me, yeah. And then the confidence is more like how I'm presenting myself to others. Oh, interesting.
Cat: Yeah, I like that, like when I was thinking about it, like I kind of like when I hear of like power and again even like the gemstone itself, like that tiger's eye gemstone, with, again the whole tiger, like you know, I don't know what do they call it Like spirit, animal concept, yeah, but power it's like it's associated like I tend to link it to almost like bravery, and there's something about like feeling like when you're in situations or around people and you feel like disempowered, it's just like it has like a little different vibration. I feel like then confidence like there's a dip. When I am feeling like I am like disempowered, it's a little scarier in some ways than just like I'm not feeling as confident.
That's like oh, like I'm unsure of myself, but I'm not necessarily like afraid you know, whereas again, I think, especially as females, sometimes like living in this world where sometimes that that feel you know, it's like the concept where they ask a man like, have you ever been scared? Like walking to your car and most men are like what, what? No, that's a thing like they don't even like realize. You know, speaking of like I saw this thing, I was like watching this guy do like self-defense jiu-jitsu stuff it came up on like social media and I was like I want to do that and I feel like I want my daughters to do that, because there is like I want to feel, like I love that feeling of feeling empowered as opposed to like disempowered, and so I think, like you know, the tiger's eye jewelry is a great way to kind of like get your mindset in that space of like whatever, whatever's going on to your life, like for whatever reason, if you feel like you are wanting and needing, deserving to channel more power in your life, I feel like that's like a great gemstone to kind of like help you remember and facilitate that.
Kati: I love that.
Cat: You want to do jujitsu with me?
Kati: Yeah, take some jujitsu class.
Cat: Remember we talked about adding like in our meetings or like okay today we're gonna be practicing self-defense and jujitsu, jujitsu, jujitsu. There you go, jujitsu. Yes, I have some friends that do it and again I just saw the guy like he showed, like you know how you get out of like these positions, you like choke, hold them with your legs and I'm like that's impressive I know any.
Kati: Anything that's like can give you power and strength sounds really cool yes and sometimes I'm like oh, I'm just small and, yes, if anything happened to me, I'm screwed like what are you what do you want from me? What do you want? Which is why I like going to the gym so much like yeah, I hate running. Yeah, I do a little bit of it because it's good for you.
Cat: Yeah is it, though? I don't know there's maybe there's a lot of debate on that.
Kati: I don't know what's good, what's not it feels good for a little bit, so I do it, but that's why I like strength training is because it's like, hey, I can be stronger and I am working on myself so I can. If I hope this never happens, but if I needed to do something, I would be strong enough to defend myself or even just everyday life. I'm going to lift that heavy box by myself. I don't need your help, jordan.
Cat: Sometimes we do that in the office Like one of our employees. She works out a little bit more. We're like can you come get this box? I got you, yeah. So it's like just daily things, like that you can have a little more strength and power, which we have a strength symbol too. So I feel like, what do you think the difference is between strength and power? You kind of answered that already. But like, strength kind of goes into that a little bit too. For sure. I think, with the strength like cause, that one's kind of fun Cause it could be like either. Or I feel like strength could be like we could talk about like literal, like our physical strength, which again we love and it's important that you know, just that feeling of like my muscles, like that lactic acid burning and you're like I'm getting stronger, the weakness is leaving my body. So I like, like again, that feels a little different than the power or the confidence I think, yeah, like that's something I love that we have so many different affirmations. It really does help you kind of like really pinpoint and focus down, because I think we also have, I believe carnelian is courage, which again is kind of like all like they run in this similar vein but they all just have like these slightly different vibrations. So, like with the strength, a little different than like the power. Like power I feel like in some ways kind of like relates to me and again, like outside circumstances and situations, like with, like other people or other kind of like environments, I feel powerful strength can be like a little more like internal and again like, okay, I feel like I'm, I feel strong in this moment, but I don't again, I don't attach it with like that, like oh my gosh, I am like afraid, because I don't feel empowered right now, whereas like the strength it's like I don't, I don't know. For some reason for me I don't associate like that feeling of fear as much interesting. I don't know it could just be like again like words, semantics and things like that, but I feel like I would want to wear a piece of jewelry that focused on strength and again like even so, we talked about like the physical strength, but then like the mental strength, like I just need like strength to like get through like this really hard thing like mental strength. You know, like that sometimes, like you know, those days where you're just like I don't really have these kind of I'm like, I'm just so like I'm exhausted, but I didn't I sat at a computer all day, but it's because you're like it was like more like mental strain. You know it's more strenuous on my mind than my actual like physical body, right?
Kati: still valid, still hard for sure oh geez, I feel like we should add. I think you said what did you say?
Cat: I love adding things.
Kati: The weakness is leaving my body and maybe that's a little bit more talking about the negative. It's not a more positive tone.
Cat: Yes, well what you want to add it. I want to write that down somewhere.
Kati: The weakness is leaving my body.
Cat: Well, some again, a mutual friend of ours. We have kind of like these conversations sometimes, but I remember what, oh I was again like I'm a little more resistant to like growth sometimes. I think some people are just a little more naturally wired that way to embrace it and love it and be excited, or they've just adapted themselves to cultivate that mindset. I still love it and I still try to do it. But, um, the concept was that they shared with me. It was have you ever like grown without some kind of like pain involved? Like give me a time where you've grown and it hasn't been hard, or something like that. And again, it's like such a basic. It's almost like this principle in humanity where growth there has to be like some what do they call that? Like some opposition, yeah, there has to be something. So again, the classic like just our physical bodies, like you literally like can't get stronger without feeling weaker first. And so it's just that exact comment like it's leaving, it's like pain is weakness, like leaving the body. You know, like I know, I know it's a little, I don't know it's from movies, something.
Kati: I'm not talking about labor or something. I don't know what is it from I's from something, but I think they were talking about it in the context of labor, and then it was like a joke, like some sketch, and they're like no pain is a baby leaving the body. Is that SNL? Probably SNL, or something. That concept, though, I think, is something that, again, it's just a really good reminder for me. Like any time I'm like growing, I'm like, oh, this is so hard in this moment, but then you come out of that and you learn the skill or you develop the muscle, and then you're just like running marathons and you're like, oh, I got this, you know. But when you're like that first, like little while, it's just so hard, so, yeah, I don't know, I'm all about feeling empowered and reminding yourself of the power that you have to just do and be and feel, like so many things, it's just, yeah, super cool affirmation stone love it. Well, and the thing with that is that the empowering thing about going through that process of the pain and the grit to growing is that we can reframe that in our minds, like we have the power to go through that. And that takes energy and time and whatever, but we can reframe that in our mind so it's less of a negative, hard thing. Yeah, like okay, yeah, it's pain and this sucks. Like no, this is painful and I'm growing. Yes, this is for my good. Yeah, and then it becomes a little bit less of a negative thing and maybe we can appreciate that a little more than we do. Yeah, I don't know, and it's hard to do. That's not easy. Yeah, but it's something that I try to do and I'm like oh, this sucks, no, no, let me reframe this.
Cat: I think that's a really good final thought because, again, it's like this concept that I still kind of like battle sometimes, of like, does it have to be hard? Like, does it like sometimes, do we sometimes make things harder than they need to be? It's like, do I have to like or is there a way to find more of a path of ease and flow? Again, almost maybe like a little bit of that like feminine, masculine, like is it? Can you still grow without just kind of like grinding it out? You know, but I do. I think that's what it comes back to is like your mindset and listening, kind of like again internally, going back to amethyst intuition, following your intuition of like the path that you're meant to be going on. And, yes, it may still be hard. You need to find that power within you, but you can like exactly like what you said, kind of like alter that mindset a little bit so it's not viewed in such a negative light. Right, I love that. It's good Power, it's a good one. Right, I love that it's good Power, it's a good one, it is All right. So what's our power affirmation? We'll close with that.
Kati: So the power affirmation is my body and mind are powerful and capable. Yes, exactly what we talked about Weakness, leaving the body so good.
